TVXQ’s debut album ‘Hug’, which was released in 2004, is seeing a sudden increase in sales.

According to Hanteo Charts, TVXQ’s single ‘Hug’ ranked second on the real time charts on the 17th of February. This album was released on January, 2004 as TVXQ’s debut single and includes the songs ‘Hug’, ‘My Little Princess’ and ‘Oh Holy Night’, a song BoA collaborated in.

How is it that the album, which was released over 7 years ago, has ranked at the top of the charts?

Since their comeback as a duo in January, U-Know Yunho and Choikang Changmin have been actively approaching the public through various programs. As it has been a while since their last period of activity and as TVXQ had mostly been performing overseas before then, they haven’t had many opportunities to approach the public through variety programs like they are now.

It seems that TVXQ is planning to take this comeback as a new turning point for the group and hold activities for a long period of time while appearing on TV programs often. They have already appeared on various music programs, ‘Running Man’, ‘Strong Heart’ and ‘Happy Together’. By doing so, they’ve shown off charms that the public hadn’t seen much of before and have also talked of the scars they’ve received behind the extravagant facade of a star.

Though TVXQ already have a large fandom, their honest confessions on TV have brought in new fans. These new fans are probably curious of the birth of TVXQ, which would explain why ‘Hug’ has shot up on the album sales charts recently.

On the same day, the special edition of TVXQ’s new album ‘Why (Keep Your Head Down)” ranked alongside ‘Hug’ and proved that TVXQ’s popularity has not died down.

[NEWS] 101120 JYJ Debuts In America At The Hammerstein Ballroom In NYC!

And oh, what a debut it was.

JYJ packed Hammerstein Ballroom to it’s limit and had to turn away thousands of crying fans during their first showcase tour in America. Complete with detailed stage effects and fierce choreography, JYJ put on one of their most memorable shows in NYC!

MTV K took you behind the scenes into JYJ’s dressing room and sound check before their concert. Right afterward, we ran out to catch all of the action during the hour-long show!

Yoochun’s gyrating dance with not just one but two of his back-up dancers had the hall screaming! (in fury or happiness, nobody knows…)

Incorporating two slower songs, “Be My Girl,” and “Found You” into the other-wise dance and beat-heavy set list, gave their show perfect balance.

All throughout the set, their love for what they do showed through and even Yoochun, who was sick, did his hip thrusts properly. (Junsu’s hip thrusts are something to be feared when you’re right in front of him. He’s truly the one in charge of charisma in JYJ.)

Even when faced with difficult circumstances, JYJ remained true professionals. The trio finished their first showcase in America by giving all of their fans a night to remember!

JYJ Announces "The Beginning"

New album from the ex-members of Asia's top selling male vocal act "TVXQ" collaborates with international music superstars on global debut.

28 September 2010, International: JYJ, which includes 3 main members from arguably the biggest selling male vocal group in Asia "TVXQ" has teamed up with A-list US producers Kanye West and Rodney Jerkins for their global album debut "The Beginning". The title of the album is synonymous with their journey to date and marks a first for the group to release an English language album.

JYJ has an enormous fan base worldwide and the trio made it to the Guinness Book Records in 2008 and 2009 for having the World's Largest Official Fan Club at over 800,000 members in Seoul alone and being The Most Photographed Celebrities in the World shot an estimated 500 million times in magazines, albums jackets, and commercials from the time of their debut in 2003 to May 19 2009 with their former group.

The first single off the album "Ayyy Girl" is produced by Kanye West who lends his vocals to the song. It also features the maestro of spoken word, Malik "The Poet" Yusef. It's a song that depicts the quest of seeking that perfect girl but when you find her, things are never quite as perfect as you envision it to be.

Says Kanye West about the collaboration and the inspiration behind the song, "Perception is often is what you imagine something to be. Achieving the goal of your perceived subject and living it out is often a far cry from your imagination. In love, working relationships, friendships, there will always be that shortfall. For JYJ, I believe it's an apt song for them as it depicts the maneuvering of the many complicated relationships and emotions they have had in their lives and the long way they have come in order to launch this album."

Besides the catchy first single track by Kanye West, The Beginning also sees two original compositions by top music producer Rodney "Darkchild" Jerkins. The two tracks are "Empty" and "Be My Girl".

Other than the creative collaborations with the US top producers onboard, JYJ who has been dabbling in songwriting since their teenage days, have also contributed a song each to the album. The tracks are "Still in Love" Jae Jung, "I Can Soar" Junsu and "I Love You" Yuchun.

"We had faced been beset with many challenges in setbacks these recent months but we have finally completed an album which the boys are extremely proud of. The Beginning is a product of their blood, sweat and tears, and they hope fans will see the efforts that went into making this excellent album. The album comprises of 7 tracks and 3 remixes. Jae Chong, one of Asia's leading music producers has also contributed a track on it and played a big role in organizing and producing the overall project with the 3 members.

The Beginning is produced by Show Shop Entertainment and distributed published by Warner Music worldwide. The album will be released on CD & digital formats from 12th October. There will also be a special limited edition 'Luxury Package' which will be numbered and limited to only 99,999 sets.

Yunho made his debut as a musical actor through his role in 'Goong' on September 8th at Theater Yong. This marks the beginning of a new phenomenon.

The first scene of the musical established a serious atmosphere and this was followed by a dance in the scene which followed, leaving the whole of the audience intrigued, unable to tear their eyes away. Throughout the performance, the use of LEDs provided a feeling of elegance, allowing the crowd to gain a better understanding of the plot. Enthusiastic responses were received from not only Korean fans but also overseas audiences.

On the day, the director said that Yunho's sincere acting and graceful dancing was the reason of their success: 'Over the past four months, Yunho has completely let go of his image as an idol. As an actor in 'Goong', he has worked ceaselessly to perfect his portrayal of Lee Shin. Despite being a newcomer and performing for the very first time, the choreographers expressed that Yunho did not seem like an amateur at all, on the contrary, his charismatic presence allowed him to really make the stage his own. I hope that he'll have gained some valuable experience and growth through 'Goong'.'

With idols such as U-Know Yunho as part of its cast, the musical 'Goong' has generated a great degree of interest from the media.

Members of the popular Korean group Tohoshinki, Junsu, Jejung and Yuchun formed a new unit JUNSU/JEJUNG/YUCHUN, and its debut mini-album 『The…』 which was released on 8 September, recorded approximately 71,000 copies in first day sales, topping the 7 September Daily Album Rankings in their first showing.

This album contains songs from the Tokyo & Kyocera Dome concerts held in June this year, for the 『JUNSU/JEJUNG/YUCHUN THANKSGIVING LIVE IN DOME』 which attracted over 200,000 people. It includes “Itsudatte Kimi Ni”,“W” and other new songs, with a total of 4 songs recorded. It is sold in a CD+DVD and CD, a total of 2 versions. The CD+DVD contains the 4 new songs, together with their instrumental versions for a total of 8 tracks. The DVD contains Rehearsal clips from the June event. The CD version has the 4 new songs, as well as remix versions and the Live versions from the event, making it a total of 12 tracks.

[NEWS] 100830 Jaejoong and Junsu Participate in Yoochun Debut Drama ‘SungKyunKwan Scandal’, Showing Their Loyalty

Conducted recently in a studio in Gangnam, Jaejoong and Junsu worked together for ‘SungKyunKwan Scandal’ OST at which each of them had recorded a solo song, before Yoochun who just finished his all night shooting joined the team to sing ‘Chajada (read: Chajatta)’ where the three men’s beautiful voices combined in a sweet wishful harmony.

After finished the recording Jaejoong stated, “Looking at Yoochun in acting scenes wearing Korean traditional costume and used different tone of speaking like saying ‘Come here!’, I feel it’s weird but am amazed at the same time.” and “I think after watching some of the drama scenes, it will be an interesting drama to watch and I feel that it’s going to become a hit.”

Jaejoong also added, “Furthermore, since there is this opportunity to participate in performing a song that will become part of the drama’s OST, which I think it’s a really good song, hopefully the OST is going to be a hit just like the drama itself.”

Xiah Junsu who had a surprise visit to the filming set sometime ago while bringing some food said, “The same as Jaejoong hyung, when I saw the trailer of ‘SungKyunKwan Scandal’, I think Yoochun fits well in his Korean costume and his acting was so good that makes me naturally feeling proud.” he continued, “Yoochun ordered me to sing the song in much heart pouding feeling (?), but it’s been a while since I listened to Korean song lyrics, so naturally I feel the heart pounding while singing anyway. If there’s anything that could be Yoochun’s accompanying power, then I’d like to help.” expressed strong friendship between them.

Meanwhile Yoochun, “Despite their busy schedule, Jaejoong hyung and Junsu still do the recording to cheer me up, I’m really impressed. Especially Junsu who’s actually in bad condition, but still forced himself to continue participating. I’m going to work even harder to repay them.” said whole heartedly.

100626 “I Drank A Lot Of Water, And Fainted” – Yunho On The Pains Of His Debut Acting Experience

On 26 June, Tohoshinki’s Jung Yunho was present at the Tokyo International Forum Hall as an actor, for his debut starring role in the drama “No Limit ~Heading to the ground~”, and it’s DVD release event. The event included Yunho’s personal selection of “My best scenes TOP 3” in the drama. He revealed that during the scene where he sank to the river bed, he actually stayed in under water for 2 minute, drinking a lot of water, and eventually fainted. He said, “I just resigned myself to drinking the water, and tried my best to shoot the scene,” explaining his feelings during that time, and the audience clapped warmly when he said this.

This drama is about soccer player Cha Bong Goon (Yunho) who aims to be a world class player, but is faced with problems such as his team breaking up, and struggles as he grows and how love blossoms among the ones around him. It is a youth love comedy drama. Two versions of the DVD Box set “No Limit ~Heading to the Ground~ Complete Series DVD BOX 1” and “~DVD BOX 2.” They sold over 14,000 copies within the first week, taking both first and second position on the Oricon Chart Ranking in the Drama category.

Incidentally, this event comes at a time where both Japan and Korea have qualified for the knockout rounds in the World Cup. Yunho, who usually plays the position of goalkeeper when he plays soccer in private, declared about the two countries, “With this fighting spirit, I think and hope that we can get into the final 4!” His favourite soccer player is Keisuke Honda, the instrumental playmaker who helped determine Japan’s victory over Denmark. “ His shooting and kicks are very good”, he said, complimenting Japan’s ace player.

Assessing his debut acting performance, Yunho said “For this show, I had to study how soccer players walk, and became one once I put on the jersey.” Still, “I’m not 100% satisfied with my first challenge in acting, but through this drama, I have matured and grown,” he responded. “This drama is a learning experience, and I want to become stronger and work harder for the future”, he said, showing enthusiasm for similar activities in the future.

Also present at the event was the female lead, popular Korean actress (Go) Ara. With a talk show, card quiz and other activities, the 5000 fans that purchased the limited edition DVD and attended this event was full of smiles from the start till the end.

B2Y’s handsome member Han Yeon has been added to the cast of KBS drama ‘SungKyunKwan Scandal’.

Han Yeon will make his debut as ‘cross dresser’ Kim Yoon Hui (Park Min Young)’s younger brother Kim Yoon Shik in the drama.

A ‘SungKyunKwan Scandal’ representative explained to OSEN that, “We set Han Yeon as the role of Kim Yoon Shik because his handsome features, intellectual appearance and talent fit well with the character. He is an important figure in the drama as he is the reason why Kim Yoon Hui enters SungKyunKwan.”

Han Yeon is a member of B2Y, a group who actively promoted their mini album ‘Babyboys To Yearinggirls’ lat year. B2Y is a mixed group consisting of members Han Yeon, Jin Woong, Nara and Seo Yeon, that is planning on releasing a new digital single ‘Go Crazy’ in July with love calls from dramas and CFs already coming in.

3 members of Tohoshinki, the Korean Group currently on hiatus, Junsu (23), Jejung (24) and Yuchun (24) created a new unit, and in Osaka’s Kyocera Dome, their Debut Live “JUNSU/JEJUNG/YUCHUN THANKSGIVING LIVE IN DOME” has started.

Due to management company troubles, the 5 members became unable to do activities, but their popularity has not changed. Fans started queuing to purchase fangoods from 3am, and by the time sales started at 9am, over 3000 people were in the line. The 3 members responded enthusiastically, singing 18 songs with a lot of emotion, including the new song “Itsudatte Kimi ni” (Always you) to the record breaking crowd size of 46,000.

Junsu said, thankfully, “A lot of people came, so I’m very happy.” Yuchun too, said “I’m happy to be standing on the stage.” And Jejung said “I was worried that fans would not come. As long as everyone is smiling, I want to do a very thankful performance,” speaking from his heart.

They will continue performing at Kyocera dome on the 6th, and on the 12th & 13th, they will be in Tokyo Dome, and a total of 200,000 people are expected to turn up.

Exclusive pictures from the Japan-Korea collaborative drama “Heaven’s Postman”, which was Jejung's acting debut, have been released! Jejung plays a postman who lies to those who have lost their loved ones, and providing whispers of happiness to them.

This show was created by the famous Japanese scriptwriters, starring a popular Korean actors and actress, and is one of the Japan-Korea collaboration projects for “Telecinema 7.” Director of the popular “Halfway” (starring Kitano Kie and Okada Masaki) directs the screenplay written by Eriko Kitagawa, and co-stars Han Hyo Joo, who also starred in the hit drama "Brilliant Legacy", which enjoyed ratings(in Korea) as high as 47.1%.

The story is about “Heaven’s Postman” Jae Joon, who has a strong link to the dead, yet cannot be seen, who meets Ha Na. Jae Joon’s work slowly helps to heal her broken heart , and the story describes a search for the route of rebirth. This time, the exclusive photos from Jejung express a situation where, while helping those who are grieving and need help using unconditional love, there is no one to heal yourself.

Telecinema 7 was aired in Korea in November last year. Aside from “Heaven’s Postman”, and popular group BIG BANG’s T.O.P and V.I.’s acting debut in “19”, Osaki Masaya’s ( Scriptwriter of “Hitoshi Tadano, the Extraordinary Undercover Detective”) “Triangle”, “A Dream Comes True”, “Paradise”, “After the Banquet” and “The Relation of Face, Mind & Love” make up the remaining 6 stories.

[NEWS] 100512 Choshinsei Starting their Movie Debut in "Kimi ni Love Song o"!!! - Supernova's YoonHak Talks About Being Compared to Tohoshinki

On May 11th, Korean unit Choshinsei attended the stage greeting of their debut movie "Kimi ni Love Song o" at the TOHO Cinema Roppongi!

All the members are appearing in the movie and are challenged with their Japanese language skills. According to SungJe "the Japanese pronunciation is difficult, but I was able to work hard on it with the support of the movie staff." Minamizawa Nao, who is playing the lover in the story, said: "The chemistry between me, the reliable SungJe and the mood maker JiHyuk was really good.", "I am happy but together with JiHyuk it was just a little..." SungJe said with a wry smile.

When asked about comparison with Tohoshinki, who have recently announced the pausing of their activities, YoonHak said "We respect them a lot so being compared to them makes us happy." However, he added in a humble way:"Until we reach them though, there is still a long way to go. Still, we will give our best, I think!"
