[NEWS] 110209 Dong Bang Shin Ki’s Single Album Ranks Atop Oricon Chart

Dong Bang Shin Ki’s 31st album entitled “Why? Keep Your Head Down,” which was released in Japan on January 26, ranked atop the Oricon monthly single chart. According to the Oricon chart on February 8, the single album had ranked in first place on the daily chart when it had been released, it also ranked atop the weekly chart again by selling as many as 231,000 copies within just six days of its release, and it had been reached first place on the monthly chart again.

Its album sales during the first week after its release was tallied as the second largest by a foreign singer following the record that Dong Bang Shin Ki had achieved when they had released their 29th album, which sold over 256,000 copies.

Dong Bang Shin Ki met 14,000 Japanese fans, who had been selected by lottery, to commemorate their album release at the Makuhari Messe Hall located in Chiba prefecture on February 8.

Fashion magazine ‘SWAK’ was placed 3rd on the Oricon chart for the very first time.

The Oricon book sales chart that was released on the 7th October, the fashion magazine ‘SWAK sealed with a kiss – 2010 Autumn/Winter’ had placed 3rd under the fashion categories for the very first time and at the same time ranked 11th for the overall book sales chart.

On top of that, it also features 18 pages of special of Korea famous group ‘Dong Bang Shin Ki’ (activities suspended) member, Shim ChangMin. Which included ChangMin’s interviews and pictures, and presents for the readers were all revealed.

[TRANS] 101005 TVXQ Trio's First Japanese Album Ranks 3rd On Oricon Monthly Charts




JYJ's first Japanese album, released by TVXQ's YoungWoong Jaejoong, Micky Yoochun and Xiah Junsu, has ranked third on the Oricon Monthly Charts.

According to Oricon, Japan's most prestigious album sales tabulation site, the JYJ unit's first Japanese album 'The...', which was released on September 8th, ranked 3rd on the Monthly Album Charts. They sold a total of 165,611 copies.

Another reason why so much attention is being focused on this album and its ranking is because 'The...' could be the first and last album the unit releases in Japan for now.

[TRANS] 101006 Tohoshinki, with 5 DVDs Ranked in Top 10, Acquired the Record Created by Michael Jackson



The popular group Tohoshinki, whose activities are currently suspended, has achieved new a record for DVD ranking that the late Michael Jackson created. Their new DVDs "TOHOSHINKI History in JAPAN SPECIAL" and "Zoom In shika Shiranai Tohoshinki DVD" (both released on 9/29) sold a total of 63,000 copies and 53,000 copies respectively, ranking first & third place on the DVD chart of the week of 10/11. Besides, 3 of their old DVDs also ranked 4th-6th on the weekly chart. Not only do they have 5 items ranked on the chart, but they have also achieved the record which Michael Jackson created in the week 7/20 of 2009 of having 5 music DVDs entering the Top 10 chart at the same time.



The DVDs are their third releases after the release of "4th LIVE TOUR 2009~The Secret Code~FINAL in TOKYO DOME" on 10/12/2009 and "TOHOSHINKI VIDEO CLIP COLLECTION-THE ONE-" on 3/29/2010. Their previous work "TOHOSHINKI VIDEO CLIP~" helped them to surpass The Beatles and Led Zeppelin to acquire the record of being the foreign artist who rank first on the chart the most in history; and with the record this time, they keep updating their history of records furthermore.

[TRANS] 100914 Tohoshinki's New Unit Ranks First on Oricon Album Weekly Chart



The mini album "The…" of the new unit JUNSU/JEJUNG/YUCHUN of the popular group Tohoshinki (currently suspending activities) entered on the Oricon Weekly chart of the week 9/20, snatching the top spot with 140,000 copies sold.

The mini album revealed for the first time new songs such as "Itsudatte Kimi ni", etc., which were sung in front of 200,000 audience members at Tokyo Dome and Kyocera Dome in June. The DVD that goes with the album is a compilation of the making movies of the "THANKSGIVING LIVE IN DOME" DVD set which was set to release on the same day as the album.

Junsu, Jaejoong and Yoochun released their first mini album 'The…' on the 8th of this month. The album rose to the top spot on the Oricon chart within the first day of its release, thus giving proof to their unchanged popularity in Japan.

The trio expressed 'We received such great response for our first ever album in Japan, in comparison, we'd like to express our gratitude towards our fans. Even though we don't get a lot of opportunities to meet with our Korean fans, we hope that we'll be able to increase our interaction with them through this opportunity.'

According to the Oricon charts, 'The…' sold over 71,000 copies on the day of its release.

[TRANS] 100909 TVXQ Trio’s Japan ORICON Chart 1 Testimony, “We Want to Provide Opportunities to Communicate with Fans”

Micky Yoochun, Xiah Junsu, Youngwoong Jaejoong, TVXQ trio released their first album ‘The…’ that was dropped on the 8th and was ranked 1st on Japan ORICON Daily Chart.

Yoochun, Junsu, and Jaejoong, “Since we’re regretting the lack of chance for us to get in touch with local fans, through this opportunity, we want to provide more frequent opportunities to interact with fans,” they said.

The trio first album ‘The…’ has been sold over 70,000 copies. ‘The…’ contains titles such as ‘Get Ready’, ‘Long Way’, in total 4 songs and with other inclusions of remixes and live versions sum up a total 12 tracks inserted in the album.

[AKP] 100909 JYJ ranks #1 on Oricon for both album and DVD sales


JYJ (JaeChunSu), which consists of Xiah Junsu, Jaejoong, and Yoochun, recently released both an album and a DVD in Japan.

Their album, “THE…“, was released on September 8th, and it topped the Oricon daily charts, selling 71,733 copies. Furthermore, the DVD of their Thanksgiving live ranked first as well.

Xiah Junsu, Hero Jaejoong and Micky Yoochun released their new min-album 'The…'. Despite being the first day of its release, the album has already secured the top spot on Japan's Oricon Daily album charts, selling over 70,000 copies.
