The ‘SungKyunKwan Scandal’ casts namely Song Jong Ki and Yu Ah in attended ‘JYJ Worldwide Concert in Seoul’ which started on November 27th at 8 pm. The two people were the members of ‘Jalgeum Trio’ in the drama along with Park Yoochun and their attendance indeed showed a strong friendship among these three actors. The only main characters in ‘SungKyunKwan Scandal’ who didn’t attend is Park Min Young who happened to have a shooting schedule at the same day.

Representatives of the two actors said, “Despite the freezing cold weather, they made their way to the venue to watch the concert. Eventhough the drama had been completed, they still sincerely stay in contact with each other.”

Today is the first concert of JYJ conducted in South Korea. Fans from China and all over Asia were seen gathering at the concert venue to watch the performance.

World famous concert director/choreographer Jeri Slaughter who is in charge to manage the Seoul concert has planned to build a roof screen with original dome structure on the concert venue for the first time, however due to hail fall since yesterday morning, the ‘concert’s roof’ was failed to complete as in the prior plan.

[INFO] 100927 TVXQ’s Xiah Junsu gains strength from members for solo activities

Currently preparing for his musical entitled “Kim Junsu Musical Concert-Levay with Friends,” TVXQ/JYJ’s Xiah Junsu recently stated that he receives strength through his fellow members.

Earlier today at Seoul’s Choong Mu Art Hall, Xiah’s held an open practice session which several media outlets came to report on (think of it as a press conference but with more action). During the session, he performed several numbers from his previous musical “Mozart!” for his guests.

In addition, Xiah stated – which many Cassies would be happy to hear – that he receives his strength from his members. To be exact, he said, “Just watching the image each of us go through our activities gives me support and cheers me on,” as he sent on his thanks to his members.

(Note: He did not specify JYJ nor TVXQ as a whole but we’d like to think that he’s talking about the latter group.)

In regards to working on musicals, Xiah said, “Musicals have given me a lot of courage and strength…Through musicals, I can sing and another one of my dreams have come true…I want to cry and laugh with my fans; in essence, I want to breath with my fans.”

“Kim Junsu Musical Concert-Levay with Friends” is set to premiere at the Seoul Olympic Gymnastics Stadium next month from the 7th to the 10th!

[TRANS] 100916 Sungkyunkwan Scandal Soundtrack Release, Following the Popularity of ‘Chajada’ Junsu and Jaejoong Solo Track

Image and video hosting by TinyPic

Finally on September 16th, the soundtrack album of ‘SungKyunKwan Scandal’ was officially released through various on line sites and off line music stores.

Commonly, a drama soundtrack will be released to public before and right after the drama begins, however in the increasingly popular KBS2 drama ‘SungKyunKwan Scandal’ case, the full album release has just been out within 3 weeks broadcast of the drama itself, thus considered to be unusual.

Moreover, considering that ‘SungKyunKwan Scandal’ is the official debut drama of Micky Yoochun (Park Yoochun), and to see how after it’s known that Xiah Junsu and Youngwoong Jaejoong were to participate in the soundtrack, there’s been a huge expectations and interests among fans as this issue is topped various search sites every day, it should be just natural that a soundtrack album is going to release right away.

In fact, according to ‘SungKyunKwan Scandal’ production company, Raemongraein, the original schedule of the soundtrack album release was on August 30th through offline stores, at the same time of the first broadcast of the drama, however the plan was held back in the end. The reason was despite the many distribution companies that showed interest on the soundtrack before ‘SungKyunKwan Scandal’ airing, they later raised concerns about the disadvantages of this project and as the anxiety continued, a lot of them gave up the plan to distribute the album.

The production company seek multifaceted solution to resolve this problem later on and they decided to contact international labels rather than domestic labels, in the end after painstaking efforts, the album is finally released in agreement with Warner Music Korea. Warner Music Korea official said that they would do their utmost effort to distribute the good quality soundtrack album smoothly.

‘SungKyunKwan Scandal’ Raemongraein production company, Lee Hyun Wook PD said, “The soundtrack album contains song ‘Chajada’ in which Yoochun, Junsu, and Jaejoong performed together as well as Jaejoong and Junsu’s solo track which we know a lot of fans have highly anticipated. In order to provide a well-produced drama and soundtrack, the production company had worked very hard and put our mind and soul in it,”

“However, for some reasons both domestic on line sites and retailers turned back from distributing the album, that made us to seek many ways to resolve the problem and throughout meeting with Warner Music Korea, we’re able to join in agreement.” he continued, “I want to sincerely thank all fans who have been waiting for a long time, please also give a lot of interest and love to ‘SungKyunKwan Scandal’ soundtrack album.”

Meanwhile, KBS 2TV drama ‘SungKyunKwan Scandal’ soundtrack album that is officially released today on the 16th contains song performed by Yoochun – Junsu – Jaejoong ‘Chajada’ as well as other 13 songs and is expected to chase the popularity of the drama itself.

Changmin’s solo album is expected to release before Yunho’s album.

Moreover, it’s revealed that the two people will have a duet recording, garners a lot of fans’ interests on them at once.

This wouldn’t be just their first solo album without the group, but to see it even more, this will also be their comeback, FIGHT!

[VIDEO] Changmin’s New Solo ‘Big Time’ is Similar to Britney’s ‘If U Seek Amy’?

copyisthebest

I can hear some similarities, but since Changmin’s new solo doesn’t have a clear audio yet, we are no one to give preliminary judgment.

Anyway, even if it is actually similar, well… SM does buy a lot of their songs from Western composers–who sell their songs to somebody else too, so it’s possible that there are two songs in different languages (just like MIROTIC and Sarah Connor’s Under My Skin, Beautiful Life and the english version of Beautiful Life, etc)

What do you think? ;)

[NEWS] K-pop idol Micky flies solo in drama

Image and video hosting by TinyPic

Torn and bruised by a series of events involving a legal battle with his agency, K-pop idol Micky ― one-fifth of the near-disbanded boy band TVXQ ― put in a confident if somewhat close-mouthed press appearance for his major acting debut in KBS’ “Seonggyungwan Scandal” on Tuesday.

“Who wouldn’t feel pressure when starting something new?” Micky, a.k.a. Park Yoo-chun, said fielding comparisons between him and other TVXQ chums that have been making the pop idol-acting crossover.

Park, Hero and Xiah filed a lawsuit against S.M. Entertainment over their 13-year contract last July, but the court’s ruling in partial favor of the trio turned out to be little more than the calm before the storm for the boy wonder.

In April, S.M. filed a court objection to the trio’s injunction and in July slapped a suit on the head of a cosmetics company that the three members had invested in. The latter was in response to a defamation suit filed by the company against S.M.’s CEO. S.M. was cleared of all charges in May.

To add insult to injury, Park’s manager was accused of assault in late July.

Unfazed, it seems, by the brouhaha, Park jumped on board as the lead for the upcoming period piece; a move that will either prove fortuitous or rash.

TVXQ leader U-Know’s small screen debut in MBC’s “No Limit” crashed and burned, bringing in abysmal ratings; not a good harbinger for Park and for member Max who awaits his fate with the drama “Paradise Ranch.” Meanwhile, member Xiah took a safer route through the musical “Mozart!” and Hero pulled off an award-winning performance in a Japanese drama.

Park’s paltry acting experience (primarily through variety show skits and a boy band-pushing TV drama film) will most likely cast doubt on his ability to pull off this hefty role. Both director Kim Won-seok and co-star Song Joong-ki, however, expressed their faith in Park.

“He has a good voice for acting and is attractive-looking,” said Kim, who cemented Park’s reputation as a budding action star by announcing that Park had level three taekwondo skills and that he “hardly used a stunt double.”

Kim then said: “He will surprise you with his slapstick comedy. He is good.”

“I cannot say that I didn’t have prejudices about idols or singers who act, (Park) included,” said co-star Song. “(But) he really tries hard. It is touching.”

Will Park’s efforts pay off?

There is no guarantee that Park will produce a persuasive portrayal of the conceited, self-indulgent, blue blood Joseon Dynasty scholar Lee Seon-joon; especially when the singer admits that he himself lacks the anal tendencies of his character.

“My personality is somewhat open and free,” the 24-year old said. “But the hidden sense of pressure (my character feels) is similar. I can relate to that.”

His ability to tune into the darker side of Lee could add depth to the romantic, gender-bender series.

Based on a novel, “Seonggyungwan Scandal” ― as its name suggests ― unfolds at the Joseon Dynasty’s premier educational institution, Seonggyungwan.

Believed to be established during the Goryeo Dynasty as Gukjagam in 992, the institute was re-christened Seonggyungwan in the early 1300s.

There the male progeny of high-ranking officials and aristocrats prepared for the state examination “gwageo” and were trained for government service work. Alumni include famed scholar Yi Hwang (1501-1570), a.k.a. Toegye whose face currently decorates the 1,000 won note.

The drama, however, exhibits no pedantic pretensions.

The school, in essence, serves as a vehicle for a “Twelfth Night”-esque plotline, where a ballsy female (played by “Princess Ja-Myung” actress Park Min-young) masquerades as a man to enter Seonggyungwan in her sickly brother’s stead. There she encounters fellow student Lee Seon-joon (Park Yoo-chun) and a romance blossoms.

The male-only school backdrop also allowed for the inclusion of a bevy of good-looking actors, providing plenty of eye candy for female viewers.

“Seonggyungwan Scandal,” however, promises to be more than just a frilly, one-note rom-com.

“The piece will bring out the romance, the melodrama and the slight raciness of the tale while also highlighting how these youngsters perceive society and how they mature,” said director Kim, assuring the press that the series would dramatize actual aspects of the Joseon Dynasty institute.

In the meantime, cast and staff members can benefit from Park Yoo-chun’s loyal fans. According to co-star Park Min-young, hundreds of fans visit the set three times a week, bringing hoards of food for everyone.

“I feel very grateful,” she said.

“Seonggyungwan Scandal” airs on Aug. 30 at 9:55 p.m. on KBS 2 TV.

[TRANS] 100715 Yoochun’s First Solo Public Appearance Since Lawsuit With SM Entertainment

Yoochun, member of the group TVXQ who went on a hiatus after their lawsuit with SM Entertainment arose, made his first solo public appearance since the lawsuit.

On the afternoon of 15 July, at Hwaseong, Gyeonggi-do, Yoochun posed for photos in front of the posters for KBS2′s new drama [SungKyunKwan Scandal] for the media. This is the first time that Yoochun appeared in public alone since July last year, when they filed for an injunction of their exclusive contract with SM.

For that reason, there was a lot of interest on whether Yoochun would comment on TVXQ’s activities or about Yunho and Changmin who chose to stay with SM, in front of the media.

Previously, Yoochun spoke about his ambitions towards this drama, “After reading the synopsis (story outline), I found it really interesting. I wanted to meet Seon Joon (the character Yoochun is playing) quickly. I’m really honoured to be able to play a charismatic character in a serious drama for my first role. To be able to show everyone a good performance in such a good piece of work, I’m studying various things to show my best.”
