[TRANS] 100930 Will JYJ’s First Album Surpass TVXQ?

JYJ is attempting to break a new record for album sales.

JYJ will be releasing their first global album on October 12th. As the team is comprised of former TVXQ members Micky Yoochun, YoungWoong Jaejoong and Xiah Junsu, many predict that this album will have a great impact on the music industry.

TVXQ, which the three members were a part of, set a new milestone for album sales when they sold 500,000 copies of their fouth album . It left a deep impression on the industry as at the time, the offline album market was in a deep slump.

is predicted to have an explosive reaction as it is the first album in two years that the trio are releasing. All 99,999 luxury package limited edition CDs have been pre-ordered which means that the trio has sold 100,000 copies in a single day. To add to the industry’s surprise, 50,000 copies of the normal package have already been pre-ordered as well, two weeks before the release of the album.

One of the reasons the album is garnering such attention is because it will be released worldwide. As their former group TVXQ even made it in the Guinness Book of World Records for having the biggest official fanclub in the world, many predict that the number of albums sold across the continents will be impressive. As bulk orders are being made from countries such as Japan and China, some are even speculating that they will sell over 500,000 copies and surpass their former record.

A representative of Warner Music stated, “The fans’ anticipation is high because this is their first album in two years. We are cautiously predicting record breaking album sales.”

[INFO] Xiah Junsu dishes on his upcoming musical

Xiah Junsu is the first ever idol to prepare a musical concert with his own name headlining it.

Perhaps such is the reason why he’s working harder than ever preparing for his four day musical, set to begin on October 7th. Junsu will be working alongside musical stars such as Seo Bumseok, Min Young Ki, Shin Young Sook, and others.

Already having received the rookie award for “Mozart!” at the Musical Awards, Junsu became widely known for his strong concentration skills and the amount of effort he puts into his rehearsals.

In a recent meeting at his rehearsal hall, Junsu met with reporters and honestly confessed his thoughts regarding his first ever self named concert.

“Thank you for your interest. The pressure of being alone is bigger than ever, being the first concert under my name. This performance was only possible with the support of the director and producers. We’ve aready been rehearsing together for three months now so the level of synchronization with the other actors is as great as ever. We’re all working hard and I believe that we’ll be able to show everyone a great concert.”

The concert seats a 10,000 member audience and began production last May.

“I released a single in Japan in May and this will be the first time I’m performing one of the songs in Korea. The song holds a message of my feelings for my fans.” Junsu’s “Intoxication” is considered one of the highlights of his musical, being the first ever performance in Korea.

Co-producer Yoo Heesung revealed, “‘Mozart!’ was sold out in February and was successfully completed. Junsu’s concert will be like a galla in style where the actors will be able to connect with the audience more as opposed to singing a few songs and going off stage. Levay also fell in love with Kim Junsu’s performance after watching him and has expressed that he would love to produce songs together. He also said that he will be writing a song specifically for Kim Junsu.”

Sylvester Levay is a world famous composer, also having worked on “Mozart!” alongside playwright Michael Kunze.

One member of the musical revealed, “Kim Junsu never misses a day of rehearsal. None of us anticipated too much since he is a famous idol star but he has exceeded all of our expectations. He works very hard.”

With so much effort being put into his musical, what meaning does it hold to him? Junsu replied, “A musical is a medium that gives me bravery and strength. It’s not just a stage that allows me to sing and act. It’s not something that I can just lightly accomplish, but rather something that I want to consistently work on into my future.”

The interview concluded with a question on TVXQ and whether he kept in contact with the members. Junsu simply replied, “Each individual member is working hard on his activities. Just watching each other work feels like support in itself.”

The articles that used to say that SungKyunKwan Scandal had turtle-like ratings are now saying things like "SungKyunKwan Scandal, reaches highest ratings to date of 10.2%' and 'SungKyunKwan Scandal hits double digit ratings... Will the drama cause an uprising?'

I was very happy as I searched through the articles when I woke up. And with it, I remembered saying in my last post that double digit ratings were our goal and that I would write once more when we reached that goal. So I have returned, with the somewhat fearful memories of the last verification issue.

Now, I feel as though you all are very close to me. Because I now feel we are all part of the SungKyunKwan Scandal family haha.

I feel as though I should set a new goal for ourselves. I'm thinking of cautiously setting a goal of ratings in the 20s.

So shall I cautiously say something about what will happen next in the story?

In episodes 11 and 12, Seon Joon and Yoon Hee go to an island~~~ But Seon Joon gets a little sick~~~~ Such scenes will be shown to you all next week.

We have been filming nonstop for the past 100 or so days since the first time we began filming in May 27th, 2010. During the hot summer, we thought about how hot and tiring it was. But we have spent so much time with SungKyunKwan Scandal that now we worry about the cold. All this time spent on a project is making the staff and actors weary and tired too.

I believe this is when they need your love more than ever before.

The double digit ratings gave us all a new strength.

We've been getting contacts from broadcasting and newspaper companies. It seems as though the interest in our drama has risen. We've finally gotten some popularity haha.

We will work hard to make the remaining ten episodes better to create a higher quality drama.

I hope you will support us till the end.
