TVXQ trio song ‘Found You’, is crowned #1 in most of general OST charts.
‘SungKyunKwan Scandal’ OST reigns OST offline charts.
The album that was released on the 16th involves participation of Xiah Junsu, Micky Yoochun, and Youngwoong Jaejoong thus attracted a lot of interests. Eventhough it was just released after the drama has been airing for 2 weeks, it’s still showing strength in offline album charts. The album occupied 1st place on the 24th album aggregate site Hanteo daily chart. Recording 12,858 sales up to the date.
It is unusual for an OST album to appear on a comprehensive chart. In fact, ‘SungKyunKwan Scandal’ OST album degraded 2NE1 first album which had been occupying top position of the chart for a long run. Nine days after the release, 2NE1 album topped the daily chart for three days. Yet shortly after the release of ‘SungKyunKwan Scandal’ OST on the 16th, it became 1st on the 17th. Later on it was down to 2nd place but on the 24th it stepped up occupying 1st spot again, showing a marvelous strength. Indeed it sticks to float at 1st place to mention about OST album chart (T/N: Comprehensive album chart ranks all album sales despite the categories, while OST album chart only ranks soundtrack album sales).
‘SungKyunKwan Scandal’ OST album has a song ‘Found You’ sung by Xiah Junsu, Micky Yoochun, and Youngwoong Jaejoong whose domestic activity have been quite rare, also has each solo song by Xiah Junsu and Youngwoong Jaejoong that definitely become value added. The album surpasses 10,000 copies sales in only one week, showing sign to be a ‘best hit’.
OST album market size is not large to the extent that the album occupies 1st spot in annual chart mostly sells only 20,000 copies. Yet last year, OST album from ‘Boys Over Flowers’ set a scary record by selling an exceptional 53,146 copies after a week, thus it’s interesting to see whether ‘SungKyunKwan Scandal’ could rise above the record.
