An exemplary star has showed an unexpected side of himself due to drinking in the new KBS2 drama “Sungkyunkwan Scandal.”
In the September 7 episode, Lee Seon-jun (Micky) refuses to attend an after-class gathering of classmates at Sungkyunkwan, a Confucian academy, saying that he does not approve of discussing some issues to resolve over drinking. But later he changes his mind and joins them on the pretext that he should obey the school rule that all students must attend activities organized by the student body.
Pointing to a large bowl full of spirits, An Do-hyeon (Kim Jung-kyun) says that their hearts for him are in it, while Kim Yun-hee (Park Min-young), who disguises herself as a boy to study at the boy-only academy, tells him that when it comes to the first shot, he should drink it up.
Seon-jun does as he is told, which serves as an opportunity to turn his hostile relationship with classmates around. But that causes trouble as he becomes sick from too much drinking.
On his way back to the academy with the classmates, Seon-jun cannot help throwing up on a street. Other classmates are also so drunk that they can hardly look after themselves. Yun-hee is the only one who is sober, and she has to bring him to the residence. But she finds the dormitory door already closed since it is after the curfew. Fortunately, Gu Yong-ha (Song Joong-ki) helps them to come in through a secret entrance.
But that is not all Yun-hee has to go through. Feeling hot while sleeping, Seon-jun starts to undress himself. Yun-hee tries to stop him but to no avail, and she has to leave the room herself.
The next day, Seon-jun is baffled to find himself naked, but soon dresses himself properly and pretends as if nothing happened.
Viewers praised Micky for his performance, saying that his character is becoming more vivid and attractive.
