[TRANS+VIDEO] 110215 Yunho and Changmin with Yukie Nakama

Changmin: The theme song for “Utsukushii Rinjin (T/N: Beautiful neighbor), “Why? (Keep Your Head Down)”, do you like the song? We did our best in singing the song.
Yunho: Yes, it is a good song.
CM: It is embarrassing to say it yourself, but please hear the song many times in the future, too.

(Three questions from Tohoshinki to Yukie Nakama)

(Question 1)
CM: Your character is completely different from the previous characters which you have performed,
YH: It’s scary.
CM: Did you have any difficulties?

(Question 2)
YH: Everyone is wearing short sleeves. When did you film the drama?

(Question 3)
CM: Which type do you prefer?

Nakama: It is difficult to select….
MC: The questions, once more. What points were difficult when acting?
N: Yes, the feeling to the neighbor Eriko-san ….you had to be friendly with her, but you had to make lies, too… that part was difficult…I wanted the realistic scenes, so the balance was difficult.
MC: Were you filming the drama in summer?
N: Yes, summer, last summer. We started filming when it was very warm, it was hot.
MC: Yunho and Changmin, which is your type?
N: Oh, which should be my type…both are very handsome…but, should Changmin-san be the elder brother? Yes, he should be… So this time, I’ll select Changmin-san, because he seems to be his own man.

[VIDEO] TVXQ – GQ Interview

Updated with trans

1. How did you feel when you stood on stage as Tohoshinki?
CM: I did feel like crying being up there, but more than that the priority for us was not to stand on stage as fast as we can. Our priority was to show ourselves as having matured and to show on a stage a high quality performance. So standing on stage as fast we could was not the main point.

2. During your break from activities did two of you practice together?
YH: Of course, and even now we still practice together, share ideas with each other. We are each other’s strength.

3. Talking about “Why”
YH: For example, if you have the right skills, the right talents, and a good impression of the song, it work. And it wasn’t just the two of us but we also communicated with other staff and people, and that was how this song was created.

4. Did you also discuss about the concept of your clothes?
YH: Yea, they would show us the clothes and ask us our opinion and things like that.

5. Talking about “Why” PV
CM: Whatever it is that we do I don’t think it could be 100% perfect . But this was our first PV together after a long time so there were times when we were anxious and nervous, and we felt more pressure. But we finished it well and I think it became a good PV.

6. Has there been any changes after becoming only the two of you?
CM: We might seem different, for example our style and our dancing because from the beginning to the end it’s only the two of us. So there’s more pressure on us and we also have more responsibilities. In order to fulfill those responsibilities we have to become more professional and work harder, an continue working harder from now on. We want to evolve more.

7. What are your activities in Japan for 2011?
YH: I think this will be the busiest year for Tohoshinki. Not just in Japan but also all of Asia.
CM: As a team we want to have activities not just in one part of the world but we would like to go to other places too.

[TRANS] Interview with Park Yoochun (Part 3) – “I’m not kidding, I really want to fall in love.”

Catch up with part 1 | part 2

We want to know what your plans are for this year

For the early part of the year, the worldwide album is be released in US, and we plan to promote the album, and are also planning a concert world tour. During this time, I plan to pick a good project, and to prepare for a shoot, go for more acting classes, and meet the viewers via a television drama at the second half of the year. At the moment, Junsu is working on the musical “Tears of Heaven” and JYJ overseas activities, and Jaejoong also has plans to do a drama for the second half of the year.

Are you happy recently?

Will what I say be considered boring? But recently, I have been living an interesting life. I cherish every little thing, and I am very happy.

“I really want a girlfriend.”

JYJ member Park Yoochun’s new year wish : “I want to fall in love!”

Park Yoochun, with blood type O, had girlfriends with blood type O and blood type A before, and each relationship lasted for 3 years, and there was good understanding. Now, he wanted to find a girlfriend that he can marry.

On the afternoon of the 13th, in an interview with chosun.com, he mentioned, “My father’s health has not been good, and so far, I have never brought a girlfriend home to my parents. If I have a chance, before his condition worsens, I want to introduce (my girlfriend) to him.”

When asked about his ideal type, he said, “I want someone with a kind face, a person that gives a feeling of sunshine. Someone who loves the people around us, a family type, who can get along well with the relatives.

Recently, Park Yoochun has been rumored to be dating Sungkyunkwan Scandal co-star Park Minyoung, to his, Yoochun replied, “Truthfully, this is just a rumour.”

[TRANS] 110114 Interview with Park Yoochun

When JYJ member Park Yoochun first accepted his acting role, many people asked questions such as, “Why is a singer acting?” But Park Yoochun’s challenge has gained him high acclaim. Acting in last year’s KBS drama “Sungkyunkwan Scandal,” and in the 2010 KBS Drama Awards, he won the Best Newcomer Award and Netizen Award, getting 3 awards in total, gaining public attention once again for his market value.

The perfect “gentleman,” Park Yoochun, during his time in TVXQ, was known for both his talents and looks, and was a star with limitless potential.

In Japan, he gained attention for participating in the Japanese mobile television BeeTV’s drama. His entertainment career was one that people would be envious of, but at this time, his life was suddenly faced with a big challenge, which is the lawsuit against SM Entertainment. Furthermore, he and the other 2 members Jaejoong and Junsu, after leaving their original group, formed JYJ, but their performing activities faced various obstacles, not allowing them to move forward.

But, did he eat some elixir of youth? Park Yoochun’s talents are still actively exhibited in front of everybody. Recently, he has been fortunate enough to have a mountain of projects to pick from. Like a carp swimming against the rushing currents, he is pushing forward for the sake of challenging himself. This is the Park Yoochun that I see.

When I first saw you, it was in 2004 during TVXQ’s debut song “HUG.” 7 years have passed in a flash. During that time, you looked really polite and sincere, do you still hear such words now?

Just like now, to meet people that I had met previously, and still being able to hear such compliments, I’m really feeling good! I started off as a singer, so what I worry about the most is whether I would mix confidence and arrogance up. Even now, no matter where I go, I still maintain the same type of humility as before, and hope to leave a good impression on people.

Congratulations on winning 3 awards at the KBS Drama Awards. You only did one project, and you managed to achieve such results, this goes to show that you are really popular! To be successful in both music and acting industries, what is your secret?”

This is an embarrassing question for me. (Laughs) I’ve never thought of this, I feel that this project just fell nicely into place. (Not only was it successful, but successful three times over.) Many singers choose to go into acting, and to overcome the burden I had during that time, I worked even harder, and I didn’t think too much about the success or failure. This is how I managed to concentrate on acting, and commit myself to the role. The secret of popularity…hmm…I wonder if this is the same logic as being a whiteboard? Honestly speaking, although it is not always in a state of total cleanliness, but when required, it will be filled, yet it can be erased, so that I can continue to plan whatever I want on it.

Recently, the trend of entertainment industry has been changing rapidly, so it is common for singers to do acting as well. Your situation is the same as other artists, but I want to know, what is your true aim in wanting to act? Was it some opportunity, that made you want to be an actor?

After I started out as an actor, I really wanted to try acting. I really wanted to study acting properly. During Sungkyunkwan Scandal, a lot of people asked me: “(You’ve been in the entertainment industry,) why are you only starting to act now?” But I feel that even starting to act now may be a little early! The reason I wanted to act…is because I really wanted to act.

Recently, via the KBS Drama Awards, you finally managed to get perform on stage after a long time. The fans were also anticipating your performance, but you only managed to sing one drama theme song, and the fans did somewhat feel like it was a pity, since it is JYJ’s stage in front of the fans after all. Did you feel any regret?

Actually, I too would like to perform more for everyone, but circumstances didn’t allow it. Even though it was just one song, we were still very happy. We, too want to sing our own songs, but just the feeling of standing on stage, it’s really very good. Maybe it’s been too long since we’ve been of stage, so we were really able to enjoy the stage comfortably. As for regrets… it’s not just us, but the fans present as well as the viewers on stage were all able to feel it. I hope that this year, we will be able to have better performances for everyone to see.

Parts 2 & 3 Coming Soon!

[TRANS] An Interview with the Jalgeum Four

PARK YOOCHUN – YOO AH IN – PARK MINYOUNG – SONG JOONG KI

An exclusive interview with the Jalgeum Four

has ended. Although its ratings percentages never left the teens, it was so popular [among its viewers] that it became known for making ‘SKKS victims.’ We met the main reasons for the drama’s success–the Jalgeum Four.

Reported by Lee Young Min | Photographs by Y3 Media | Design by Lee Bora
[Cause I'm awesome, I translated all four parts. My OCD strikes again. Click under the cut and enjoy. ^^ --jaeshinah]

GARANG SUNJOON | PARK YOOCHUN
A perfect transformation into a dashing student and prickly little prince

JYJ’s Park Yoochun (Micky Yoochun) has overcome the hazing [of public opinion] to emerge as a successful actor. It’s true that many people expressed concerns about his casting, he who had absolutely no experience in acting. But he portrayed the role of the dashing and prickly student perfectly, wonderfully putting to rest the worries and fears of many people. In fact, Park Yoochun had dreamed of acting since DBSK’s second album activities, and he underwent intensive acting training beginning three months before filming began to strongly build the basics of acting. There are also behind-the-scenes stories revealing that on set, he never lost his rookie heart, and always made an effort to learn [from those around him]. He, who showed his fiery determination to act even though he was twice taken to the hospital with an IV in his vein, said, “Though it was hard, it was a truly happy time.”

“It would be a lie if I said I wasn’t nervous about acting before the drama began. More than anything else, I was nervous because it was a project that was important to me in its timing [T/N: He means its timing in his life and/or career]. That’s how much love I poured into this project.”

When he couldn’t participate in the final episode party event because of JYJ’s schedule, he expressed his regret through Twitter.

“Though it’s only a 20-page book, it is overflowing with more warm memories and love than any other book. Inside this car that’s flying at 100km per hour, I am still looking at this book. I love you, and I’m thankful to , which I love. Bye!”

If there is a point of regret, it would be that he was so busy with filming that he wasn’t able to take very much care of his ill father. Due to differing opinions, they lived apart for 10 years, and more than anything, his heart is apologetic. He said that when he acted with his father in the drama, played by Kim Kab Soo, he thought even more earnestly about his own father.

A son with strong filial piety and talented singer of JYJ, Park Yoochun. We look forward to seeing you use the success of this drama as a foundation for becoming a truly impressive actor.

[Red type under the picture]

I like you. Kim Yoon Shik. I, who
would not travel without a path,
who would not go if it wasn’t according to a principle, I who thought
propriety and law was all there was to life,
I’m telling you
I’ve come to like you, a man. That’s the reason
I can’t remain your friend or roommate.

DAEMUL YOONHEE (YOONSHIK) | PARK MINYOUNG
The woman disguised as a man who confidently entered Sungkyunkwan, a place off-limits to women

A worn out-looking Park Minyoung, who lost 4kg during 5 months of filming, entered.

“It seems like just yesterday that I was fighting with the hot sun on set, but suddenly winter has arrived. I’ve suffered a bit because of the winter cold that came suddenly without autumn in between. It was difficult because my body had a tough time, but I learned a huge amount. Because I gave everything I had and did my best during filming, I have no regrets. If I have a daughter later, it’s a drama I would definitely want to show her.”

Park Yoochun and Yoo Ah In are, along with the object of their love triangle Park Minyoung, all the same age as 1986-ers. In spending a long time stuck together, the three of them have become very close friends. They are as comfortable with each other to the point where they don’t see one another as members of the opposite sex, and whenever there was a moment of rest on set, they would get together and talk. Might that be why? For a little while, there were rumors that Park Minyoung had a scandal with her loveline partner, Park Yoochun.

“I guess it’s because we were deeply absorbed in our acting. It’s probably because we get along really well. Don’t misunderstand! Haha. Actually, Yoochun-ssi jokes around a lot and is really fun. When he starts acting, he tries very hard and gives everything he has. Though it’s his first acting challenge, he was prepared and had received solid training.”

On the other hand, her thoughts on Yoo Ah In are a bit different.

“He has a unique worldview. There’s a side to him that’s more sincere and deeper [than others]. If the others are like friends, then Ah In-ssi feels more like an older brother, maybe?”

Yoonhee, whose will is stronger than her delicate looks would betray, is a person with pride and tenacity inferior to no man. Park Minyoung said that Yoonhee had so many similarities to her own self that she felt like her other half.

“Like Yoonhee, I’m also strong and positive in all circumstances. I do my best even when things are difficult and hard. In a way, I feel like Park Minyoung has entered Sungkyunkwan as an actor. I’m not complacent, thinking I’ve become popular, and I will become an actor who does not forget her original purpose and works harder than ever.”

Though, excepting just one episode, she has worn men’s clothes throughout the entire drama, she is not sad. She remarked that strangely, she hasn’t had many roles where she could wear lots of pretty clothes, and laughed as she said that she would also be wearing average and ordinary clothes in her next project, a movie titled .

“I want critics to say, ‘Now she seems like a true actress.’ I would like people who felt Yoonhee’s sincere heart to know that I, Park Minyoung, was acting with a sincere heart. Please expect many things from me [in the future].”

[Red type under the picture]

Please give me a chance.
It’s the first time in my life.
The first time I have met someone
who acknowledges my ability,
the first time I have met someone
who takes my side.
Please give me this chance.
Please allow me to
throw questions to this world.
Please give me the permission
to have the chance to dream of a new world.

GUH-ROH JAESHIN | YOO AH IN
The ‘babo’ beastly man who becomes gentle before the woman he loves

Through this drama, a different kind of attractiveness of Yoo Ah In was discovered. Though he is a macho man whose roughness can be matched by no one, before the woman he loves, he becomes a meek, hiccuping man. He is a man so pure he says whatever he feels, and moves according to whatever he thinks, but he also protects and watches over Yoonhee without a word—-our beastly man, Jaeshin. Many women are still crying out for Guh-roh sahyung, afflicted with ‘Guh-roh ache.’

“Jaeshin was just like me, Um Hong Sik (Yoo Ah In’s real name). Jaeshin’s temperament and thoughts were really very similar to my own. Occasionally, I also acted aspects [of Jaeshin] that I didn’t have within myself. Shouting suddenly and hiccuping in front of women are [two things that are] actually very different from myself. It was so awkward I thought I would die. (Laughter)”

In reality, Yoo Ah In has a ‘strong’ style when it comes to women. That’s why he also acted roughly toward his co-star Park Minyoung. Jaeshin had to treat Yoonshik like he was really a man, which is why he acted ruthlessly in putting [Yoonshik] in headlocks or physically fighting with him. Excepting that one point, Yoo Ah In and Guh-roh are 99% alike. Yoo Ah In also spoke of his character’s strong [capacity for] love.

“During school, I was also a rebellious kid. So I couldn’t attend school for a long time, and I couldn’t get along with life [society] very well. Jaeshin’s efforts to meet with his Sungkyunkwan friends, adapt to life, and reform the problems of society seemed beautiful to me.”

In 2003, Yoo Ah In debuted through the coming-of-age drama . In the movie , he played the pretty pâtissière apprentice Kibum, and in the drama , he played the role of Park Hyunkyu, the fresh youth who dreams of loving freely to perfection, steadily improving his acting [with each role]. It took, it seems, eight years after his debut to meet his representative role, and one feels it came somewhat late. In one interview, he revealed his feelings on this, saying, “Every time I say it’s been eight years since I’ve been an actor, I’m embarrassed.”

“If I had listened to my manager, I probably would have made more money and earned more popularity, but when I decided something wasn’t right for me, I resolutely gave it up, and I have followed my convictions in choosing projects. That’s why I was able to take on a role as good as this one [in SKKS].”

Rather than happiness at finishing a drama successfully, he feels more regret. Asked about his future plans, he said that he will start by shaving his facial hair.

“This is the first time I’ve grown out my facial hair. It was unfamiliar because it was the first time, but it seemed to fit me well, so I was happy. Now that filming is over, I’m wondering whether I should cut it or not. Should I just completely shave my head one morning, while I’m at it? Ah! (Song) Joong Ki said that my most attractive point was my lips. I’m also planning on taking consistent care of my lips. Haha.”

[Red type under the picture]

You’d better stay right under my eyes.
I thought I was going crazy!

Those obvious lies.
If you keep saying them, it’ll become a habit.

YEORIM YONGHA | SONG JOONG KI
With his flower-like looks, the love shaman who completely steals women’s hearts

“I’m Gu Yong Ha.”

This man has stolen women’s hearts in one move with his clever eloquence and winks. Yongha goes around the market streets as if he has not a care at all for worldly matters and worries—-but those who think of him as a screw-up who only cares about women and playing make a serious miscalculation. The scenes where he cares for his childhood friend Jaeshin as though his own body was hurt reveals a deep friendship and a penetrating insight into the ways of life. Through his portrayal of Yongha in this drama, Song Joong Ki has definitely confirmed his place as an actor.

“He’s really an attractive character. Yongha does everything ‘behind the scenes.’ He doesn’t have any special romance in the drama, and he doesn’t have a political goal, but he is a very fun friend. I think many people have shown interest and love in him because he’s a character you don’t often see in historical dramas.”

Except for Yongha, the rest of the Jalgeum Four students (Sunjoon, Jaeshin, Yoonshik) are entangled in a love triangle. Yongha realized this earlier than the others and watched over the situation with a knowing eye. But might he have any regrets for not having a romance himself?

“I’m sad about it. After finishing the drama, I thought there wouldn’t be any big aftereffect, but that wasn’t the case. As I’m the only one without a loveline, an aftereffect was created. [T/N: That is, he feels like someting is unfinished.] In my next project, I also want a role where I can love someone like crazy.”

The most memorable line in the script can be said without any hesitation: “I’m Gu Yongha.”

“After the line became a hot topic, things changed. When we would have unofficial bets for fun, people would divide into sides, but when I would say, ‘I’m Gu Yongha,’ no one would bet against my words. (Laughter)”

Song Joong Ki, who debuted through the movie , has been a vivid presence on the acting scene since. In the movie , he plays a high school student with an ill-mannered love [story]; a talented ice skater in the drama ; and a cute hospital resident in the drama , showing his acting skills. Though he began acting at a relatively late age, his efforts at learning and studying harder than everyone else allowed him to shine as the clever Yeorim.

“Filming was happy and fun. More than anything else, I’m really happy to have met good friends like Yoochun and Ah In. In the future, I want to participate in diverse projects without consideration of nationality or genre. Please look forward to a growing and improving actor Song Joong Ki!”

[Red type under the picture]

The reason I’m not worthy
is not because I’m a joongin [middle caste].
It’s because I
was embarrassed of myself.
So from here on out
I won’t live that way!
Because this is Sungkyunkwan,
and I’m Gu Yongha!

[VIDEO+TRANS] 101124 CH[V] Taiwan interview with JYJ

credit: kjjhero0126

Today in our show, let us look at the interview with JYJ. The host said later we will see something that he showed to JYJ during the interview. The something was the ticket of the Tokyo Dome concert in June that JYJ held. He kept the ticket till now and he shown them while he was interviewing them and told them that he went to see the concert and he remember Jaejoong teared at the end and he saw it. When he told them these, he said the members were surprised that he followed them. Host said he believed they left a deep impression on everyone when they were here in Taiwan. He said he had the biggest reward because he had the chance to talk to them at backstage because of work. Hence before they left Taiwan, they took his ticket and autograph for him. He is thankful to them and later when they were taking a photograph together, he felt that they treated him as a friend because during phototaking, he had no idea what to pose as he was shy standing together with the three of them, hence he made a thumbs up pose and suddenly Jaejoong held his thumb and did a thumbs up sign too, then Junsu and Yoochun followed along and did the same gesture(hence they took a picture like this at 01:54) He said he shared this picture on his Weibo(something like Chinese version of twitter) before. Then he wished them good luck as they are entering the international market and hope they can visit Taiwan and see everyone soon again.
Start of interview at 2:10

Host: Please introduce and greet your fans using some Chinese that you all know.
Caption on Yoochun at 02:39 – Trying to escape
JS: Hello everyone, I am Kim Jun Su. Are you busy with work?
JJ: Hello everyone, I am Kim Jae Joong. Do you want to jump? You, You all, We, Them, Thank you.
YC: Hello everyone, I am Yoochun. *Tries to pass mic over*

Host: Yoochun at least know 3 words right, a kind of food.
YC: Xiao Long Bao

Host: Still Xiao Long Bao *laughs*

Host: Visit time in Taiwan is very short, but before they leave Taiwan, are there any feelings they want to share?
JJ: We have not visited Taiwan for about 5 years, have not been here for long but there are still many fans waiting for us, supporting us, felt very blissful yesterday.

Host: How about Junsu? How do you feel?
JS: Firstly, we miss Taiwan and yesterday was together with many fans, seeing them on stage and also being able to sing on stage, really felt blissful.

Host: How about Yoochun?
YC: Actually what they mentioned is what I want to say, we came and held a showcase, although time was short, I hope if possible we can hold a concert and can be together with everyone for a longer time, feel that we should do that. It’s a pity we didn’t get to eat Xiao Long Bao(LOL)

Host: If you all have chance to come again, tell me personally, I will bring you all out.
JS: Then must remember to leave your contact.
JJ: We all think that in Asia, Taiwan has the most beauties.
Caption: Sweet Tongue
Host: Yes, that’s right, that’s right.
JJ: You dont seem to think so *laughs*

Host: There is a lot in Taiwan
YC: Most of the people think so.

Host: Yes, that’s not wrong. If we have chance next time in private, I will introduce you all some Taiwan friends. Yes, people like Guo Cai Jie, Jolin Cai(both are singers) etc
To me, it is a very special feeling to be able to work with them yesterday on stage.
JS: Me too, me too(LOL)

Host: Thank you, thank you.
In June this year, I specially went to Tokyo to see their concert. *shows them the ticket*
JS: Ah, Tokyo Dome.

Host: For the show, to bring back news to the fans as their first concert in Tokyo Dome with the 3 of them.
All: Thank you.

Host: I queued for a long time to buy their Tshirts.
All: Thank you.
YC: Whose did you want to buy?(LOL)
Host: I bought all 3.
All: Thank you.

Host: When the concert was ending, because they were very touched, they teared and he saw many fans crying along with them. From that time till now that I see you all again with this new album, being able to set records, do you all have any thoughts? The first to tear that time was Jae Joong.
JJ: In the Korea showcase, I have mentioned in front of the media too that that period was really a long time that they had not stood on stage, hence really felt blissful when they were able to. Also, didnt a lot of things happened last year, because of those things that they cant say anything, the fortunate feeling to stand on stage and also sadness, hence tears drop together.

Host: This time, they collaborated with many international musicians, so we hear a big difference in this album, in the beginning when they had to sing this type of songs, do they feel that there’s difference in the ways they are familar in singing?
JS: If there is a difference, the foremost is that we’re not singing in Korean, but had to sing in English, so we were not used to it and spent a lot of effort on it. This is also one of the it, the recording was done in US which to us is something we are not used to including working with foreign staffs, but everything, everyone, every staff was really friendly to us, they are nice people, therefore we were able to release our album in Asia and made us work hard in promoting.

Host: As they are so busy with work, I believe their stress levels are huge and I know that for Junsu, he has 4 cats, should be to relief stress.
JS: This is one of the reason, plus home is a little big, a little, a little, just a little big(LOL), hence there is feelings of emptiness, so I had cats to accompany me, it can reduce the feelings of loneliness. When sleeping, they will play beside you and mood will become good that time and also they were cute.

Host: Ok, Yoochun, anything to mention?
YC: Dog.

Host: Has dog. Usually the time you all spent away from home is long, will you all miss your pets?
Translator: Yoochun said its still alright(LOL)
JS: They can live well themselves.

Host: Jae Joong showed his scar that his cat scratched him.
JJ: By his claws. Yesterday at the showcase, didnt I said I have to let the cat exercise, hence I put him on the running mill right? I said I did this with good intentions for the cat but yesterday I went on twitter and everyone said it was my fault.(LOL)

Host: Today, let us hear their future plans, because till now, all the fans were very supportive, so what are the plans in future?
JJ: For the moment, to complete the showcase held for this worldwide album is the most important thing. Also, the decided second concert in Korea, preparing for JYJ concert.
Host: We look forward to the concert and also happy to be able to meet them in Taiwan today, hope to see them often in Taiwan meeting the fans. There’s many beautiful girls to introduce to them. Ok thank you JYJ for coming on our show.
All: Thank you.

[TRANS] 101119 FCI Morning Eye Weekend JYJ Interview

Announcer: You’ve finally made your debut in America. How do you feel right now?

Jaejoong: For me, should I say it’s somewhat similar to when we debuted in Japan? We’re introducing our own music through new words, to a new world, so I’m feeling really nervous.

Junsu: Although I’m really nervous about our American debut, but I’m even more nervous over speaking Japanese (for the first time) in such a long time.

Announcer: But your Japanese is really good… Your (debut) album… Although I think it must be great, how do you feel about the album?

Yoochun: My first thought was that I must work hard for this.

Jaejoong: I want to know as soon as possible what everyone feels as they listen to our songs.

Yoochun: Recently for me… it’s really painful but, I’ve been craving Japan’s tonkatsu ramen. (Jaesu laugh) It’s really painful…

Announcer: Meeting these three in New York and talking to them.. never did it occur to me that the topic would move on to tonkatsu ramen.

Announcer: Nowadays k-pop is everywhere in Japan.

Jaejoong: I’m glad (to hear that).

Junsu: Yeah

Announcer: Did you ever think that such a day would come?

Jaejoong: I’ve thought that it would be nice if it became like that.

Jaejoong: Up until here, although there have been many waves of difficulties and we’ve really caused our families and fans to be really worried… as expected… it’s even more painful for ourselves.

Junsu: How do I say this… Even though there’s a lot of pressure… but because of our dreams, we will always overcome that.

Announcer: Please be sure to show us an awesome performance!

Jaejoong: Yes!

JYJ: Thank you

This time, the KPOP whirlwind in Japan, “Behind the Storm Attack of Korean Idols” was the topic. Yunho’s interview (approx 33 seconds) was in a part titled “Check! The secrets of the idol training system.”

Translation:

This is the continuation of interview with JYJ. You all know JYJ have visited Thailand so many times. JYJ fans, would you like to know what the trio like to do when they visit Thailand? Shall we start with 5 questions?

Woody: What kind of activities do you usually do when you visit Thailand?
JJ: Massage
YC: We normally go to the massage place that we often go, not the one in the hotel.

Woody: The massagers don’t scream at you when they see you?
JS+JJ : Nah like that
JJ : But they probably pay more attention in giving us massage more than usual or adding us extra hour.

Woody: What would you like to bring back from Thailand?Yoochun?
YC: My mom really loves playing golf. She has visited Thailand for playing golf so many times.I’d like to bring the golf court back to her
JJ: There’s nothing I’d like to bring back but there’s one thing I’ve never had…that thing is “to ride an elephant” it’s been 6 years now and I still don’t have a chance to do that.I hope I have that chance one day
.

Woody: My body is like an elephant, mind riding me?
JS *looks shocked*
JJ: Okay *acting as if he’s gonna ride Woody*

LOL

Woody: Are you guys excited to go to NY?
JS: We’ve been to USA many times actually, LA, San Francisco or other cities but we’ve never got a chance to to NY so we feel excite for this trip

The exclusive with JYJ has finished. We hope this could help JYJ from missing them or you guys would probably miss them more? We have to except that JYJ are very very sweet. There’s no doubt why they were recorded in guinness book as “the artists who have the world most fanclubs” and “artists who were taken pic the most”too. This is the best of JYJ comeback

[NEWS] JYJ interview with V magazine New York

By Frances Cha
11.15.10

Image and video hosting by TinyPic

Not to be dramatic here, but mega-Kpop-group JYJ’s first U.S. showcase in NYC’s Hammerstein Ballroom on Friday night was probably one of the craziest things I have ever seen. The concert was slated to start at 8pm, but when I arrived at the New Yorker Hotel at 1pm for my interview with the artists, I was greeted with the sight of approximately four thousand fans jam-packed into lines that stretched for over two blocks at 35th and Eighth. Passing cars slowed to see what the fuss was about, as anxious police and security guards were having a field day trying to shepherd amazed passers-by out of the way. JYJ, a three-member male group from South Korea, are mega stars internationally (as evidenced by the Guiness Book of Records entries in 2008 and 2009 for World’s Largest Official Fan Club), but this month marks their first debut in the United States. Released in Asia last month, their first English language album The Beginning is planned to drop on Amazon and iTunes in the U.S. in the next few weeks. It is a major debut, with Kanye West and Rodney “Darkchild” Jerkins producing separate tracks on the album, which also features Malif “The Poet Yusef”, and is distributed globally by Warner Music.

For Friday’s concert, fans began lining up on Thursday night and spent the night on the street, spurred by the first-come first-serve seating. But what truly floored me was the sheer scale of the international audience; I talked to fans who had literally just flown in from France, Mexico, Brazil, Peru, Japan, Thailand, Dubai, and China for this particular show.

“Yeah, I flew to Hong Kong to see their concert two weeks ago and flew back to New York for this one,” said Shelly Jameson, 28, who is a stylist based in NYC. Whitney, 20, and Bonietta, 22 took the bus up from Michigan the night before. “We started hearing their music online and became huge fans even though we didn’t understand what they were singing about. That’s why we’re so glad this album is in English.” Pierre-Aime from France also said that he had become a fan after he heard their music online, while Alison Slater, a 34-year old artist from Toronto said that she was also flying out for the Las Vegas and LA shows that are scheduled for the 14th and 19th, respectively.

The concert kicked off with hilarious commentary by the two MC’s for the night; Julie Chang of Fox News and the actor Shane Yoon teased the crowd to a frenzied pitch before introducing JunSu, JaeJoong, and YuChun, who emerged in sleek yet showy black outfits a la Rick Owens meets Resurrection, and immediately launched into a blockbuster performance of the first song of their set. The trio showed effortless dance skills and truly impressive vocal range as they sang “Empty,” a darkly catchy song with a Euro-pop techno vibe, which was written by superstar producer Rodney Jerkins and carried the signature Darkchild electronic dance beats.

The set alternated between performances, onscreen animation, and Q&A sessions with the MCs. JYJ showed off some more sexy moves while performing “Ayyy Girl,” the collaboration track with Kanye West and Malik Yusef, which featured syncopated acoustic layers and a jagged retro beat. The show closed with the band performing a remix of the opening song “Empty” (and nearly causing an earthquake when the members urged the screaming crowd to jump) while a white blaze of confetti blasted from canons onstage.

The agitated energy level of the audience beat Madison Square Garden hollow; I personally witnessed more than one hapless audience member being carried out for suffering a seizure during the show.

In an interview before the showcase, the three JYJ members talked to V about their U.S. debut.

FC: How has your experience in New York been so far?

JunSu: We’ve been to the States about seven or eight times, but we only visited the West Coast, and so this is our first time in New York. We had really high expectations, and it’s as beautiful as we expected. It’s amazing to think that we’re actually performing in the city that we’ve seen in only movies and magazines until now.

FC: Have you found time to go out and enjoy the city?

YuChun: We went to a party on our first night.

JunSu: But then we got sick.

YuChun: The party was probably why we got sick. *laughter*

FC: What was it like working with Kanye?

JunSu: It was a blast hanging out with him at his studio in LA. We all talked a lot and were just chilling, which then led naturally to the recording sessions. Working with him was great because it was so laid-back.

YuChun: We all went out to eat burgers and thought it was funny that he didn’t take his sunglasses off the entire time. *laughter*

FC: Who are some American artists who you would like to collaborate with in the future?

JaeJoong: For me, J. Holiday. His music is very inspiring, and similar to the kind of sound that I aspire to in my own songwriting.

JunSu: I would love to work with Beyonce. We went to see her show when she came to Seoul, and it was amazing.

FC: Although you guys are famous overseas, you are debuting as a new artist in the U.S. How are you approaching your new audience?

JunSu: As musicians from Asia, we know that we have a steep hill to climb in the American music scene, but we realized that coming in. We will continue making the music that we are passionate about and we hope that the American audiences will come to appreciate our particular sound and production.

[TRANS] 101108 Park Yoochun’s “Jealous of Lee Seonjun who has many Friends” 5:1 Dreamy Interview

Even grandma fans are shocked that kindergarden children called Yoochun “Lee Seonjun!”
Park Yoochun felt new about this change. Singer Micky Yoochun is an idol, a figure for the hardcore fans, but he couldn’t believe that grandma fans and children would recognize him.

“Is this the power of television dramas?” KBS “Sungkyunkwan Scandal” lead character Lee Seonjun had lived for 6 months, although it’s very tiring, his heart is contented. “In TVXQ, JYJ, I’m Micky Yoochun; as an actor, I’m Park Yoochun. This feeling is great”

Due to conflicting schedules between JYJ World Tour and the filming of the drama, Park Yoochun has to organize his day, especially to continue with his overseas performances and the filming. After the filming of the drama, his body was not in good condition too. Although he’s unwell, he still wanted to talk to the fans; thus Park Yoochun had joined us in Seoul’s Nonhyeon-dong on the 5th.

Through “Sungkyunkwan Scandal,” Kim Won-seok PD, as well as colleagues Park Minyoung, Yoo Ahin, Seo Hyorim and Kim Ha-gyoon, we get questions from them for reporter Park Yoochun to go through a 5:1 interview.

Kim Won-seok PD: When will you have time? I couldn’t get through to you via phone too. Amongst Seonjun, Yongha and Crazy Horse, who can you portray best?

First, I want to apologize to the director. I didn’t avoid him on purpose; I fainted on the broadcast of the last episode (2nd). As for JYJ World Tour, I had to go to America on the 7th, and planned to return to Korea within the month. When I returned to Korea, I would go visit you. As for the characters, I have the most confidence in Seonjun. To be honest, I think all are difficult to portray, but I had already done Seonjun’s, but if I want to try to be the charming “Yeorim” Gu Yongha and beastly “Crazy Horse” Moon Jaeshin, I think there goes another overnight shooting.

Park Minyoung (Kim Yunhee): After living as Lee Seonjun for 6 months, which scene left the deepest impression on you?

When I had the determination to enter the school. When father (Kim Kapsoo) congratulated me, I felt like the approved entry to the school was a dream. I felt really good. Also, the scene where I told Kim Yunhee “I like you, Kim Yunhee.” When we were shooting this, time was running out since there was a lot of people at the place where we shot the scene, Yongin Village. But I didn’t know how to act well, and the feeling that I could digest many scenes at once was very good.

Yoo Ahin (Moon Jaeshin): When you’re choosing your next work, you’re pleased with the script, but what if you’re unhappy with the actress? Or vice versa, the actress is good but the script isn’t?

Is this a Yoo Ahin question? Ah, how could you ask this kind of question… Uhm, personally I feel that even if I don’t really like the actress, but if there is a something for me to learn, I would go for it. Because I won’t change my mind due to my personal emotions. Say what, a actress that I like? Like filming with an actress like Kim Taehee but the script isn’t that good? (Laughs) No matter what, I still need to act in it. Using my acting to fill up the incomplete parts, the end product should be interesting.

Seo Hyorim (Ha Hyoeun): When do you feel the most tired while you’re acting? To Lee Seonjun are you happy with the character?

It’s the weather. When it’s summer, the hotness was undescribable. During October, it was so cold that my mouth froze. When we were in Gyeongbuk filming, the temperature was -10 degrees Celsius. After the fourth episode, the script came out abit later, and we had to film it overnight. Whenever I’m free, I’ll take out the script to memorize the lines. Almost died. As for Seonjun, I’m quite similar to him since both of us stick to our principles, but the difference is the way we express our thoughts. Seonjun is good. For me, other than Hyunjoong, I don’t have much friends in the acting industry and am envious of Seonjun who has a lot of friends.

Kim Ha-gyoon (Teacher who teaches Yoochun acting): Although you’re at your peak as a singer, but as an actor, your ability is outstanding. Have you ever thought of concentrating on acting?

I feel so honored. In May, I was learning from teacher about techniques of acting for the whole month. From how the plot started to character anaylsis, I learnt a lot. (Kim … said that Yoochun was very serious, and he concentrated strongly, like a sponge, he could absorb things very fast) In the beginning, I didn’t know what kind of person Lee Seonjun is. I was very irritated, very angry, so I studied about Lee Seonjun everyday, and without me knowing, I was Lee Seonjun. Singer Micky Yoochun will never give up, but to actor Park Yoochun, his ambition is wide.

[NEWS] 101112 Yoo A-in mentioned about Yoochun in his interview

Image Hosted by ImageShack.us

Actor Yoo A-in [Chae Ki-won/10Asia]

10: In “SungKyunKwan Scandal,” all four of you were of similar ages. How was that?
Yoo: I was prejudiced about them. I wasn’t able to get close to them in the beginning because of the thought that celebrities will be like this and that and that’s why I usually don’t become friends with them. (laugh) I understand that they can’t help being self-centered, that what they feel is important, and they need to receive more attention. But I rid myself of a lot of them — through Yuchun, my prejudice of idols and Hallyu stars, through Min-young my prejudice of fellow actresses, and through Song Joong-ki my prejudice of actors. So in the way that Jae-shin came out of his shell and came to accept Yoon-hee, Seon-joon and Yong-ha, I myself came to see these people in real life in a good way which means I myself matured as well. I had fun shooting the drama. I just wish we had more honest conversations about acting. But what I thank Joong-ki for is that he gave me a lot of advice comfortably. I came to realize that he’s not just plain sly, he’s sly in the sense that he wants what’s best for everyone.

10: Writing is an act which contains your will to express something that you feel inside. You had mainly been writing on your Cyworld account and started writing on Twitter a few months ago. How has that been?
Yoo: When I’m away from home, I’m in dire need of the time and space that will let me go back to being myself. For three to four months, I felt uncomfortable not being able to live my life as myself. So being able to voice what I think and communicate with people through Twitter as Uhm Hong-shik, as actor Yoo A-in, was very comforting. In a way, it’s a blessing and honor, and I learned a lot from the thousands of responses I receive from my single comment. Of course, some were just light or routine remarks but quite a lot of the responses awakened me and taught me lessons, as well as reminding me of what a closed person I am. So, I’m going to stay on Twitter. (laugh)

10: I actually think it’s not easy to do Twitter because thousands and ten of thousands of people are reading it.
Yoo: A lot of people want me to stay on Twitter but at the same time, it makes me speak up less. And it’s not easy to go against that. It’s not like I was born as an independence fighter or anything of the sort. I like what’s comfortable and I wish I had nothing to worry about. But that really means I would have isolated myself and I know it’ll turn me into a miserable person so I sometimes force myself to write. It’s not because I’m dying to write but because not being able to makes me very unhappy so I’m trying to continuously tell myself ‘I can do it, I can speak up, I will keep speaking, I know you want to put a gag in my mouth but I will keep speaking, I will not lose, I am not incompetent.’ It’s very hard work.

Image Hosted by ImageShack.us

10: So are you saying that it’s difficult to be your real self but you want to continuously make sure that you are being real?
Yoo: Yes, and not just about acting. I think it’s about everything about being someone in his twenties. I actually have a desire to just live a very peaceful life. I want to live comfortably, and of course I also sometimes think that I would like to make money by just smiling pretty but I think I also trying to push such thoughts out and try to force myself to be someone in his twenties. I’m someone who matured early and I know the rules to living life tactfully but I have to let go of them. I’m in the dilemma of being too realistic versus trying not to stay realistic because being mature means that you know the answers so you will stop and settle to protect what you have but that’s immature. I think the true way to be mature is to continuously seek answers, ask questions and go forward as well as fail at times. That’s why I wish people would use the world ‘youth’ in a different way. When people say, “He’s still in his youth,” it usually means that person is immature and a passionate idealist but I wish it could be used to refer to young people who are truly mature and are upright.

10: You’ve also written about labor and human rights-related issues on your Twitter account. And they’re thoughts that anybody with a mind for social issues could have but celebrities are usually branded as being ‘political’ the moment they mention speak their mind on such matters. this could end up being very bothersome for you so aren’t you worried about that?
Yoo: I am. I’m worried and scared to death. I can’t sleep at night after writing such things. (laugh) But from what I judge, someone who can’t do that is dead, or at least partially. I want to live a decent life, not just be alive because I’m breathing. I even think I should be allowed to talk about politics because like actress Ko Hyun-jung’s character says in SBS TV series “The President,” it’s irresponsible to regard politics as a bad thing when we’re all citizens living under strict political control. I won’t do something just because it’s good or criticize sharply just because something’s a social issue. I just think that I can at least play the role of introducing what I can truly relate to, express what I feel feel and share thoughts with other people. Although it’s sad that that’s very difficult to do in the society we live in and the celebrity system I’m in.

10: I think it must be tiring to have to live according to a system or standards of society even when they don’t mean much to you. Plus Korea has very high ethical standards of people who are in the arts in the commercial sense.
Yoo: Because the moment I package myself, I’m not just showing myself to people in a certain way but I trap myself in that packaging. That’s why I’m trying to make the size of my wrapping large and show that I’m someone who’ll curse, who will drink and go clubbing. It’s nothing really but I need to make conscious efforts to do that because it’s as if right now, it’s not permitted.

Image Hosted by ImageShack.us

10: When you create the image of being an ethically faultless person, sometimes that’s all there is left about you.
Yoo: That’s right. As our perspective broadens and our standard for culture heightens, I also want there to be a larger and broader variety of people to exist but I’m just a single 25-year-old actor. That’s why I think it would be nice to have a senior in his 30s or 40s who says this because I could come off as rude. Someone who can show that they can find happiness as a human being even as a celebrity.

10: Won’t that change since we live in times where even actors are changing?
Yoo: I do feel that it’s changing. But the problem is that young actors or singers adjust themselves to the system they’re in. As if it’s only natural. The young kids are thinking, ‘This is what celebrities should do, they should smile and act like this, and celebrities have to wear hats that look like this…’ I think it’s very, extremely bad to get into this business before establishing your moral standards. That’s why I wish young people wouldn’t become celebrities at a young age. I too wouldn’t if I could go back to being young. Also, it’s almost impossible to establish a real sense of your self. Some people may say I regard work too lightly which they’re right about. My work is not serious compared to my life and even more so compared to the real life I live as a human being. So whoever wants to become a celebrity, I hope they starts with the thought that becoming a happy person comes before becoming a happy actor. I just want everyone to be happy.

10: Well if you’ve had a hard enough of a time that you never wanted to be an actor ever again, what has pushed you to move forward so far?
Yoo: I think I’ve been honest. (laugh) I was sure of my convictions and the path I need to take, and the reason I could bear through everything was probably because I wasn’t in a rush. For example, people think they can sacrifice and compromise ten years to achieve a huge and ideal dream ten years later. Going to school is similar. You could spend that time in a happier way but you sacrifice yourself to an extent for the future. But I also think that from that process, you can definitely protect your convictions and take a step closer to your goal while living a life you’re happy with. And it doesn’t have to come when I’m 25 but when I’m 35 or 45. I also think it’s better to remember who I am and take a slower path rather than losing myself while trying to shorten that time period. Although I may talk right now as if I know something, I too am not sure of how I’ll change. But I think celebrities saying that they won’t forget their original resolution is different from them saying they will always be humble. Original resolution should be at the bottom of everyone’s hearts and it’s about knowing what you’re working for, what you’re looking for and what your happiness is about. That’s why although it’s supposed to be most important, it gradually becomes second important then third important… then you start to change. So no matter how tough of a time I’m having, I need to make sure it stays my priority! (laugh) Even if I may let the rest of me become more realistic.

[TRANS] 101026 Xiah JunSu Musical Concert – Levay Latest Interview‏

Image Hosted by ImageShack.us

Composer Levay, came to Korea for “Kim Junsu Musical Concert”.

Grammy awards winning “Mozart” and “Elizabeth” composer Sylvester Levay once again visited Korea for “Kim Junsu Musical Concert” dated on 7th October. The musical will include exciting tracks like “Mozart” and “Elizabeth” which will debut in Korea in 2012.

After arriving in Korea, Levay had been concentrating and working hard with the orchestra for the performances. We met him on the 5th when he had some free time.

PD: We heard that you are very busy at the moment because of the preparation for “Kim Junsu Musical Concert.”

On the 1st of this month, I went to the practice room alone and I met up with the actor. Thou was the feeling back at ‘Mozart’ performances, but Korean musical actors capability are not any less than actors from other countries. This time round, it was the orchestra which made me very surprised. They were very impressive. Right now, the director Kim Mun-Jeong had ended with the overall practice; I’m currently going through the process of blending the atmosphere (to match the performance). The modifications I brought up were all accepted positively and were corrected even further. This is really not an easy job.

PD: It was said that Mr. Levay played a big role while planning for this musical. I’m very curious why would you name this musical as “Kim Junsu Musical Concert.”

After “Mozart!” ended, I went to Munich and watched Kim Junsu’s concert DVD as a singer. After looking through at a few information regarding his performances, the thought of “It would be so much better if Junsu could performance once more on stage” deepens. I tried to proceed with this idea and thus, there was a musical concert as a result.

By saying “performance,” I didn’t mean a performance whereby he only sings, but including more of the musical genre; this way it could present a different Kim Junsu and that he would have the opportunity to climb to another level of success with this musical concert. I had this kind of thoughts.

With wonderful tracks from “Elizabeth” which had not been opened to the Korean audience, and also actors from one of their favourites – “Mozart!” to complete this colorful performance. German musical actor star Uwe Kröger who had also cast in “Mozart!”, “Miss Saigon”, and “Phantom” will be starring in this musical as well. At the end of the musical, the song composed for Junsu will also be known; I will personally play the piano accompaniment and present Junsu who will be the first one performing this song.

PD: There is big anticipation regarding your composition for Kim Junsu.

Both of us had started communicating when we first met each other. We shared our stories about this and that. Junsu requested from me if I could write a song for him, and of course, I had agreed. I feel that if Junsu’s music world and mine was to meet with each other, it will comprise of a very meaningful world. When I was writing it, I did not have the thoughts of targeting it as the musical’s theme song nor was it pop music, I was simply and purely producing a song. I wanted to share the story we interacted by a music piece and so that Kim Junsu can hundred percent display his charming voice.

PD: I heard that you went to every stop of Kim Junsu’s “Mozart!” It’s also said that you rated highly of his talents.

Yes, I’m a fan (laugh). After seeing Kim Junsu at the practice room and I had that feeling of “This friend does really know how to run forward.” He has surprising talents and is a very intelligent friend. His emotional voice in “Mozart!” is the first thing which attracted me. The rich emotions moved me deeply. Even though one’s singing abilities are important, it is important as well to know how to express your emotions while singing.

PD: You must have also received the hanbok as a gift from Kim Junsu’s fans as well.

Oh, I must express that I am really very thankful to them! It was really a beautiful hanbok (laugh). It is a wonderful thing to be seeing enthusiastic fans in Korea, Europe, Japan and from other countries as well.

PD: We are also looking forward to “Elizabeth” which will be first open up in Korea through “Kim Junsu’s Musical Concert”.

We will be able to watch 6 brilliant performances for the concert this time. I’ve also heard that there was a huge curiosity regarding the chosen casts. It was confirmed to be performed approximately on the year 2012; however, the selected casts are not notified yet. That was due to the actors’ schedules. The producer and I wished that there are at least 3 to 4 names who was selected for this performance will be chosen. Another thing that I was more certain was that I wished “Elizabeth” lead actor will have Kim Junsu’s name on it.

PD: In “Elizabeth,” what are the important points for that led to responsive Korean audience?

First of all, if it could be as well-loved as “Mozart”, then it will be really amazing. The life of a sixteen-year-old woman to the Empress Elizabeth, by focusing on these fundamentals, there are quite a number of parts which could move the Korea audience. Her desires to be freed from the strict rules of the imperial palace is similar as to the issues of today’s life. Characters such as Death who will be introduced as her love, and also other roles as well does meet the Koreans’ conditions of charismatic. I think that this will definitely relates to the Korea audiences. Please enjoy the rest of the story through the performance.

PD: I had heard that “Elizabeth” female lead is a very fascinating character.

Yes, even though it is a difficult role to play as one have to 100% display the character perfectly with one’s singing and acting abilities, she is able to show that. One has to digest the characters from a 16 year-old to a 60-year-old. Despite that I had not met her personally, I had troubles selecting which Korean theme songs would be most suitable.

PD: What are your afterthoughts after contacting with Korean musical?

First of all, I will have to fanatically praise every part. I’ve watched the musical “Hero”; the actors, stage, music, storyline and dance are very outstanding. This is an opportunity for me to know how talented Koreans are. From “Mozart!”, I started with this thinking — “Isn’t the time frame for preparation too short?”. However, when I stepped into Korea, and I saw the enthusiasm and how attentive that the actors and backstage workers are, I understood, “Ah, as long as there’s positive attitudes, everything is possible.”

After the short rehearsals, I do not have any negative points to say about Korean musical. It is because it is really, very amazing.

PD: Something to say to the audience of “Kim Junsu Musical Concert”?

It is going to be very special. You will be able to see different sides of a singer and a musical actor Kim Junsu, able to encounter the unforgottable touching moments created by the awesome orchestra and the actors. 4 new songs which will surprise the audience will be played as well; this is a secret! Come and witness this for yourself.
